HOW IT ALL BEGAN…

I have a love-hate relationship with golf. I’m not talking about having good rounds and bad rounds. Believe me, I can (and do) hack it round all day and still enjoy being out on the course. What I mean by love-hate is that while I love golf; its etiquette, its challenge, its camaraderie, I hate the fact that the sport is just so expensive.

As a junior golfer, a student and then a young adult, it’s always been frustrating to see my favourite players sporting the newest gear and tearing courses apart with the latest clubs, while I’m wondering whether to spend the £12.50 left in my bank account on a new glove or a sleeve of balls.

In fairness I normally choose both (the beauty of an overdraft), but the point I am trying to make is that golf is an expensive sport for young people, and it is the expense of golf clothing that really got my cogs turning. So, after a couple of years of trying to win the lottery with no luck, I’ve instead decided it would be easier to start my own business.

Introducing Arumura; A golf clothing brand for amateur, young, and new golfers who need the game to be a little more affordable and a little more accessible, made by someone who has been there, done that and has not been able to get the t-shirt due to lack of funds.

Arumura’s journey is tee-ing off (HAHA) with the Arumura Original Windproof Overshirt, the golfing love child of your classic lightweight windproof jacket and a sweatshirt (check out ‘the range’). This modern twist on a classic style encapsulates everything I believe golf should be; relaxed but classy, fun yet elegant, bold but refined. To put it simply, I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game I love and I’m going to make it my mission to encourage more young and amateur players to take it up, one sexy affordable item of golf clothing at a time.
